Finance minister presents anti-corruption strategy

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The approaches of the authorities in the fight against corruption are clearly stated in the government’s program, finance Minister Vardan Aramyan said during parliamentary debates of the 2017 state budget, in response to ANC faction secretary Aram Manukyan’s question.

“That is, the macroeconomic stability, the purpose of which is strengthening the grounds for economic growth. I have delivered reports about this for several times, as to where we need to start it from. We have to take two-level actions, one in the macro level, and the other in the micro level”, the minister said.

He underscored, the fight against corruption, which suggests actions in the micro level, is included in the government’s program. “It is an adopted rule throughout the world in the fight against corruption that one of the best tools is introduction of information systems, in order to maximally decrease human interaction. And the most important, which is drawn like a red line in our program, is the strengthening of e-government systems”, the minister said.

He expressed conviction is the government’s success in tackling corruption.
