National geographic includes Armenian Karahunj in top 10 ancient stargazing sites
17:52, 28 November 2016YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. National Geographic has published the list of the best ancient stargazing sites, which also includes the Armenian Karhunj, also called Zorats Karer.
“Armenpress” reports the article says that about 3,000 miles east of the cromlech in Portugal is the Armenian Stonehenge, called Karahunj or Zorats Karer, near Sisian. It includes 223 stones, some weighing up to 10 tons. Some have a circular hole.
Similar sites in New Mexico, Portugal, Greece, Kenya, Iran, Australia, California are included in the list together with Karahunj.
