YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan on November 7 held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier, press service of the Ministry told “Armenpress”.

The Ambassador congratulated the Defense Minister on his new post, wished him success in his tenure.

During the meeting Vigen Sargsyan attached importance to the efforts of France over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country.

Referring to the cooperation in the defense sector, the sides stated that the mutual cooperation in the defense, especially, in the international peacekeeping sector has a great potential for development taking into account the high level inter-state relations between the two states.

At the meeting an agreement was reached to carry out works aimed at intensifying the cooperation in the defense sector and the regular bilateral contacts at the military-political level.

The sides also discussed regional security issues during the meeting.
