Armenia tries to preserve export dynamics – Chairman of parliament’s Standing Committee

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian leadership tries to add or at least preserve the existing level of exports, as well as ensure higher level of domestic consumption, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the parliament of Armenia Gagik Minasyan told the reporters on October 28. He noted that exports from Armenia have significantly risen while imports have declined. “If in the past the ratio of import and export was 3:1, now it is less than 2:1. If we manage to add or at least preserve the current dynamics of exports by economic growth measures, as well as ensure a higher level of domestic consumption, we will record positive developments”, “Armenpress” reports Minasyan saying.

Referring to the Cabinet’s Action Plan, he mentioned that the existing realities demand deep-rooted reforms. The Chairman of the Standing Committee noted that the Cabinet’s plan provides for easing the tax burden on self-employed people, without ruling out the possibility of making them tax exempt.

Gagik Minasyan did not speak about the state budget 2017, saying that discussions will kick off from Monday and the answers to all questions will be given. He only stated that sees no danger for default.
