CIS PMs Council session kicks off in Minsk, Belarus

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The Council session of the Prime Ministers of the CIS states has kicked off in Minsk, RIA Novosti reports.

Prime Minister of Belarus Andrey Kobyakov opened the session and said the first documents prepared by the results of the recent meeting of the CIS heads of states in Bishkek will be discussed in the narrow format meeting.

“Today we are going to discuss the first documents on implementing the decisions of the Council of the CIS heads of states over the CIS adaptation to contemporary realities”, Andrey Kobyakov said.

“There is still much to do for strengthening the cooperation: it is necessary to specify the areas of the CIS authorized bodies, to optimize and increase the effectiveness of the work of sectoral structures, to ensure saving and effectiveness of the use of financial resources”, he said.

Prime Ministers of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as Vice Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Moldova and CIS Executive Committee Chairman Sergei Lebedev are taking part in the narrow format session. Ukraine is not represented in the narrow format meeting.
