YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS. 17 years ago on October 27 the Speaker of the National Assembly, National Hero Karen Demirchyan, the Prime Minister, National Hero Vazgen Sargsyan, the Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly Yuri Bakhshyan, Ruben Miroyan, Artsakh War Hero, MP Armenak Armenakyan, MPs Mikayel Kotanyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Minister Leonard Petrosyan fell victims of the crime in the Session Hall of the Armenian National Assembly.

What they have done for the establishment of Armenian statehood, their great contribution and devotion to it are unforgettable and instructive. They are remembered until now.

On October 27, 2016 the Speaker of the parliament Galust Sahakyan, the Deputy Speakers Eduard Sharmazanov and Hermine Naghdalyan, MPs, the close relatives of the assassinated state figures, the representatives of the Parliament Staff, the journalists accredited in the parliament laid flowers at the monument eternalizing the memory of the crime victims and paid their tribute to their memory in silence and bowing, "Armenpress" was informed from the press service of the parliament. 

The parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan characterized what happened as a tragedy for Armenia and its people.
