Writer Ruben Hovsepyan dies aged 77

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Writer, translator Ruben Hovsepyan passed away on October 27, aged 77, the ARF bureau reports.

Ruben Hovsepyan was born on May 5, 1939. He graduated the Yerevan State University in 1962. From 1982-1987 he was the editor-in-chief of “Soviet writer” (currently Nairi) publishing house. From 1988-1989 he was Secretary of the WUA, and since 1989 he was editor-in-chief of Nork magazine. In 2014 he was awarded the title of Honorary Worker of Culture of Armenia.

His works are known for the actuality of the topics.

Hovsepsyan translated works by Leo Tolstoy and Marquez’s “One hundred years of solitude”.
