YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is creating favorable conditions for jewelry industry, Gagik Gevorgyan – President of the Global Armenian Jewelers’ Association said at the World Jewelry Confederation (CIBJO) forum in the “Meridian” Jewelry zone.

“Every year the forum is held in different countries. This year, at our invitation, it will be held in Yerevan, where for a week long period issues related to the industry will be discussed on a global scale, regarding gemstones, jewelry, diamonds and other issues. Meaning, issues are discussed here which later become laws for the jewelry industry of the world. I can say that Armenian jewelers are one of the best jewelers in the world, if not the best, unfortunately however a majority of them are abroad”, he said.

According to him there are plans to attract jewelers who are abroad to re-locate to Armenia and establish their businesses.

“We must be able to create a correct and good atmosphere for them, and all these conditions are being created now by the leadership. I am glad because the forum shows that by inviting the greatest of the world here, Armenia becomes the global center of jewelry. This proves that both Armenian and foreign jewelers must have great trust towards Armenia. The free economic zone is also located in this building, where jewelers from various countries can come and establish their workshops and be exempt from taxation”, Gagik Gevorgyan said.
