Armenian citizens suspected in murder of two Armenians in Moscow

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Russian law enforcement bodies suspect some Armenian citizens in the murder of two Armenian citizens in “New Moscow” district, “Armenpress” reports, citing “Ria Novosti”, Russian Investigative Committee informed.  

The Russian Investigative Committee informed that a criminal case has been initiated over “a murder of two or more people”. According to data of Armenian Embassy in Russia, Eduard Nshanyan – born in 1973, and Armen Israyelyan – born in 1970 are the killed citizens of Armenia.

“The investigators possess information of the identity of the suspects. According to preliminary data, they are citizens of Armenia”, press service of the Russian Investigative Committee informs.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Russian Investigative Committee’s Moscow Department on the murder of two Armenian citizens. The victims have been identified.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia tasked Ilya Varov – Armenian IC representative in Russia, to contact authorized agencies in Russia who is regularly briefed on the proceedings of the criminal case.

According to reports of the Russian Investigative Committee, on October 23, at 15:40 Moscow time, Russian law enforcement agencies received a call from Armenian citizen Hasmik Nshanyan, who said she couldn’t contact her brother since October 17, who resides in Moscow.

Law enforcement officers were immediately dispatched to the address (provided by Hasmik Nshanyan), and discovered the corpses of two men, with gunshot wounds. Both of the victims are Armenian citizens and ethnically Armenian. Their identities were revealed to be : Eduard Nshanyan – born 1973 (gunshot wound to the head), and Armen Israyelyan – born 1970 (gunshot wound to the head).

Initial reports suggest the two died 3-5 days ago. Seven 5.45mm cases and 2 bullets were found at the scene.

A criminal case has been launched in Moscow’s Investigative Committee.

Forensic expertise is underway.

Law enforcement agencies have already a potential suspect, who, according to preliminary reports, is also an Armenian citizen. A manhunt is underway to locate and apprehend the suspect.
