YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS. While on a working visit to the Netherlands, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited St. Karapet Armenian church in the city of Maastricht before the launch of the Summit of the European People’s Party, press service of the Presidential administration informed “Armenpress”.

President Sargsyan held a brief meeting with the representatives of church board member “Ani” Armenian community, talked with them about the daily life, issues, plans of the community, the opportunities on strengthening the cooperation with the Motherland, as well as answered the participants’ questions.

“Ani” Armenian community always actively participates in the events organized by the Armenian-Netherlands organizations dedicated to pan-Armenian issues.

In 2012 the Catholic Church of Limburg province decided to give the Christ Ascension Church to the Armenian community which was consecrated into St. Karapet in memory of the old Armenian church of Amsterdam.
