Tigran Sargsyan says EEU Customs Code may be signed in December

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The EEU’s Customs Code is on the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Commission, EEC Chairman of the Board, former PM Tigran Sargsyan said in his opening remarks during the 1st International Forum of the Eurasian Partnership.

According to him, the commission is working in the direction of signing the Code in December. “The commission has been working for a long time now on the Code, state agencies of member states are also involved, so are representatives of the business community for providing the adoption of norms which would maximally take into consideration the interests of business sector”, Sargsyan said.

Speaking on the Economic Forum, he mentioned that it forms a good tradition, when the business community gets the chance to find partners, cooperate with state agencies by presenting the problems of the sector.

“The Eurasian Economic Integration forms new ground for the works of the business community. The Eurasian Integration project has expanded the economic borders for all countries, created a wide, almost 200 million large market without customs borders, facilitated rules of engaging in business in a number of fields. Business gets a better domain for its activities due to integration”, he said.

Sargsyan said currently trade-economic agreements with India, Egypt, Iran, Mongolia, Israel, Singapore and other countries are being elaborated.
