All taxi services must have equal opportunities – Armenian Minister of Transport

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan and the First Deputy Minister Artur Arakelyan attended on September 27 the session of the working group set for the purpose of simplifying the license giving process.

Heads of “GG” and “Mobi” online taxi services, as well as representatives of NGOs dealing with the sphere were invited to participate in the discussion, “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia.

Greeting the guests, Minister Martirosyan mentioned that similar meetings are of key importance, since all the interested parties have an opportunity to present their concerns and opinions.

Heads of a number of NGOs presented their proposals that mainly touched upon the issues of delivering quality service by online taxi services and creating equal opportunities for all of them.

Attaching great importance to the issues raised during the meeting, Minister of Transport and Communication Vahan Martirosyan stated that the sphere needs further examination and permanent analyses. “I am convinced that the meetings between the representatives of the sphere must be permanent, involving more and more interested individuals and organizations. Everybody must have equal opportunities. This is the first condition to which we have to aspire”, the Minister stated.

Minister Martirosyan added that after the proposals are discussed and elaborated, they will be included in the package of legislative amendments.
