YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The Music School named after P.I. Tchaikovsky has been completely renovated, all conditions exist to provide quality education for school children.

On September 5 President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan toured the school, then they took part in the concert with the participation of school children.

School Deputy Director for secondary education Hasmik Madanyan said after renovation the school became unrecognizable. “The school has been completely renovated. We are confident the children will study with more enthusiasm and energy, the desire to study will more increase since such conditions automatically bring to that”, she said, “Armenpress” reported.

Executive Director of “Hayastan” All Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan said the school children will become the persons who will later present Armenia in different countries. “A new era in the cultural field is started in Armenia through the renovation of this cultural center. Our neighbors are proud of their oil, and we are proud of our children. The cultural sector is important for the Fund, since we can present Armenia to the world through culture. We must carry out serious investments in this field, we must be able to create conditions for our children in order to receive proper education and present Armenia in foreign stages”, Ara Vardanyan said.

Chairman of Armenia Fund USA, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s East Coast affiliate, Khoren Bandazyan said he has visited this school few years ago. “We understood that this is a big project, but we have started implementing it”, he said.

Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said although the school conditions were not so good, the teachers fulfilled their duties completely for years. “The school has earned this renovation through its work”, she stated.

Music School Director Martun Kostandyan said the school is operating in this building since 1973. “Today, what I, my colleagues see, is a miracle. All conditions exist for children to receive quality education, participate in concerts, international contests”, he said.

The Music School has been renovated by the sponsorship of the Armenia Fund USA, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s East Coast affiliate. The construction works have started in March 2015. The school has been completely renovated.

The total project cost was 1,150,000,000 AMD.
