YEREVAN, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS. A fire broke out in the forested area of the “Gyolasor” part of “Khosrov Forest State Reserve” at 03:00, August 30.  Personnel of the Reserve spotted the fire at 5:00.

The fire contained at around 09:00, but strong winds boosted the blaze at 16:30, the Ministry of Nature Protection told ARMENPRESS.

40 employees of the “Khosrov Forest State Reserve” and 30 firefighters tackled the blaze.

As of this moment the fire is contained and extinguished.

56 year old A. Arakelyan, a citizen of Kapan, has been discovered at the scene, who is responsible for the outbreak of the fire.  Approximately 15 hectares of grassland was burnt.
