YEREVAN, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS. Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan says the 2016 four-day military operations in the Defense Army showed that the defense line with its engineering devices and equipment ensures the management of modern military operations, “Armenpress” reported.

“I have repeatedly said our people should not have an impression that the frontline improvement works are being carried out only in 2016.

Just simply respective measures are being taken today to expand the engineering capacity. In different places where certain changes were made, large-scale works are being conducted in the frontline through technical measures, to expand the surveillance devices capacity.

I would like to recall that the works towards that path have started since the end of 2013, 2014-2015”, he said.

Ohanyan said the four-day war made carry out the works aimed at expanding the technical capacity in the frontline more quickly.

I will recall that the presence of the surveillance devices, the information received from them and the skilled operations of the commanders and soldiers played a preventive role during many military operations”, the Defense Minister said.

Referring to the situation in the frontline, the Defense Minister said the situation is relatively calm in the border, the number of shots is small, but the Azerbaijani side continues making violations.

“We do not respond to irregular shots. We are trying not to create tension, but the armed forces’ actions are always like a storm: we always keep our vigilance and are ready to resist different storms”, Seyran Ohanyan said.
