YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS. Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Armenia Giorgi Saganelidze delivered his credentials to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on August 30, “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Armenian President’s Office.

The Armenian President congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of assuming the post and wished success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan expressed conviction that the newly appointed diplomat will have a significant contribution to deepening bilateral relations and further strengthening Armenian-Georgian relations. Mentioning with satisfaction that in the recent years high level inter-state interactions have quite intensified, the President mentioned that Armenians are looking forward to the forthcoming official visit of the Georgian PM.

Ambassador Saganelidze assured he will spare no efforts to deepen the existing close and friendly relations between Armenia and Georgia, adding that he is pleased to conduct his mission in a country the centuries-old culture and history of which is rather familiar to him.

The interlocutors stated that the traditionally friendly relations and the active intergovernmental dialogue based on historical grounds of mutual understanding between the two peoples are a solid platform for outlining new directions for cooperation.

President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Giorgi Saganelidze shared the opinion that parallel to the high level political relations there are broad prospects and unutilized potentials to develop trade and economic relations and expand partnership in a number of promising spheres, such as tourism, agriculture, energy, culture and so on.

The Armenian President and the Georgian Ambassador mutually highlighted the importance of further deepening inter-parliamentary relations.
