YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS. The attorney of businessman Aram Petrosyan – who took hostages in Moscow’s Citibank – has appealed against Petrosyan’s pre-trial detention, attorney Alexander Karabanov told RIA Novosti on August 29.

“Today we appealed against Petrosyan’s remand. We noted that Petrosyan had no intention of hurting anyone, which is evidenced by the fact that he carried out the act unarmed, a fake bomb, as soon as reporters arrived he immediately began releasing hostages”, the attorney said.

Petrosyan’s defense also stated that their client has no prior charges and his elderly and ill mother is under his care.
