Specialized entity on legislative drafting to be formed in Armenia
12:03, 25 August 2016YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. The Government approved the bill on creating the “Legislation development and legal research center” foundation.
During the Cabinet meeting Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan said that back in 2013 this issue was discussed with OSCE/ODIHR, and the creation of the foundation is highlighted especially within the framework of the Constitutional Reforms.
“As a long strategic goal we also plan to decrease the number of legislations drafted by state agencies. The goal of creating the foundation is having a specialized entity of legislation drafting”, Hovhannisyan said.
The minister said the foundation is being created with the assistance of USAID.
The founder of the foundation is the Republic of Armenia, the Justice Ministry is the authorized entity to act on its behalf and the interim director is appointed Tigran Markosyan.
The foundation aims at supporting the coordinating policy elaboration of Armenia, introduction and development of coordinating management, analysis of legislations etc.
