YEREVAN, AUGUST 10, ARMENPRESS. Expert on Georgian affairs Alik Eroyants says it is beneficial for Armenia to cooperate with the current Georgian leadership, than with the previous one which had certain pro-Turkish stances, reports “Armenpress”.

He said not only the Georgian public, the European structures and international organizations, but also Armenia must be interested in the upcoming Georgian elections since Georgia is a very important country for us.

Alik Eroyants said in this election campaign two political forces have a possibility to win: the one is the ruling “Georgian Dream” alliance and “The United National Movement” opposition party.

“If we compare the governing period of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, we will remember his pro-Turkish and pro-Azerbaijani policy in parallel with the accession processes to the EU and NATO. But the current ruling leadership showed that they give importance to establishing normal relations with all their neighbors”, he said.

Eroyants said if the current leadership continues their policy, in any case the result will be positive for Armenia, if not to say favorable.
