Paramedics still held hostage in Police station

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. The Healthcare Ministry of Armenia announces that the paramedics are still held hostage in the Police station.

“Armenpress” presents the Ministry’s announcement:

“Starting from yesterday, on July 27, the entire Armenian medical community, numerous other citizens, foreign prominent specialists have repeatedly urged the gunmen to release the paramedics who are held hostage in the Police station. They emphasized that the committed act is beyond all humanitarian borders and is unacceptable throughout the world.

The Healthcare Ministry of Armenia, joining the calls of our numerous citizens and the medical community, once again calls to release the paramedics from hostage without any precondition.

Yesterday releasing one of the paramedics only received positive reaction among the public. However, the public cannot accept the fact that the professionals while on their humanitarian mission are being treated in such a way, who continue to provide medical assistance both to all citizens, as well as to the injured in this difficult and tense days in our country regardless of any circumstances. They do their professional duty with an honor and remained loyal to their vows.

We continue calling and demanding the release of the paramedics from hostage without any precondition. We also continue working towards providing proper medical treatment to the gunmen in hospitals”.
