12 charged for July 20 Yerevan riots

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS. The Investigative Committee continues preliminary investigation of the July 20 mass disturbances.

The Investigative Committee told ARMENPRESS six have been charged by evidence obtained through investigative operations. The six are charged with Article 225, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code – taking part in mass disturbances, destruction of property, and violence against law enforcement officers.

The Court has approved the investigator’s decision to arrest the culprits.

The Investigative Committee says as result of the mass disturbances, according to preliminary data 62 people have sought medical treatment with various injuries, out of whom 37 police officers and 25 civilians.

As of July 27, a total of 12 people have been charged for taking part in the mass disturbances.

 

Notice – Suspect is innocent until proven guilty by the Court of Law.
