YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS. As result of large scale investigations by the Special Investigations Service of Armenia, criminal charges on negligence were filed against Emil S. – officer of the “Yerevan-Kentron” Correctional Facility. The investigation was initiated based upon inmate D.S.’s reporting.

The investigation revealed that Security officers of the Correctional Facility carried out personal search of inmate D.S. and Officer Emil S. wrote a protocol in this regard. According to Emil S.’s protocol, an overall property and money worth 896 thousand AMD was found during the search of the inmate.

The Investigation revealed that Emil S. did not properly carry out his duties. The Officer did not store the inmate’s valuable watch and ring in the special locker and the cash was not transferred to the inmate’s account. Moreover, Officer Emil S. left the personal belongings of the inmate unattended in a room, which was stolen as a result.

Officer Emil S. negligently inflicted significant damages to the inmate’s rights and legal interests.
