YEREVAN, MAY 2, ARMENPRESS. During the press conference Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian after the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Finland said war and the use of force are not solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the conflict should be exclusively solved with peaceful means. He stated that currently the situation is not so stable in line of contact despite the verbally reached ceasefire agreement in Moscow on April 5 and the operation of 1994 agreements which is termless and binding. “However, today we again witness the continues violations of the ceasefire and unleashing new aggression by Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh, as well as the escalation of the situation in the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border”, Nalbandian stated. He said in this situation the international community should unite its efforts to give targeted response to Azerbaijani large-scale military operations against Nagorno Karabakh at early of April and its continuation.

First of all there is a need to apply the proposals by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to install monitoring mechanisms to investigate the incidents, however the Azerbaijani side refuses from this in fact bearing the whole responsibility of violations on it.  

Edward Nalbandian stated that Armenian side fully supports the Minsk Group which has already accelerated huge knowledge about the conflict and its settlement ways. “Armenia welcomes 5 statements made by Co-Chairs about the conflict settlement issue stating that it is ready to settle the issue based on these statements, unfortunately, we cannot say the same about Azerbaijan which rejects these statements. Azerbaijanis not only do not refer to that statements, but also present maximalist demands and try to resolve the conflict with military means”, Armenian Foreign Minister stated.
