projects of Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Karen Chshmaritian received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kiesler on October 21.

As “Armenpress” was informed from Information and Public Relations Division of Republic of Armenia Ministry of Economy, greeting the newly appointed Ambassador, the Minister of Economy mentioned that good relations are established between Armenia and Germany and the Government of Germany always supports the development of cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Matthias Kiesler expressed willingness to assist the development of bilateral relations. The newly appointed Ambassador asked to introduce the suggested areas for cooperation.

Karen Chshmaritian highlighted the importance of attracting German companies in such large infrastructure projects as are the construction of Iran-Armenia railway, North-South Road Corridor and several projects in the field of energy.

The Minister of Economy suggested to organize sectoral business forums next year in order to promote cooperation in mutually interested fields.

Matthias Kiesler spoke about the negotiation procedure of the new cooperation agreement between the European Union and Armenia. Karen Chshmaritian stressed that Armenia intends to develop the cooperation with the European Union taking into consideration the commitments assumed within the framework of the World Trade Organization and EAEU.

A number of issues related to economic cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
