Michel Legrand and other artists attend evening dedicated to genocide victims

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS. A special concert dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust, was given under the auspices of French-Armenian legendary singer Charles Aznavour. The event headlined “You are my brother” was held in Paris on October 12 at the Folies Bergère hall. “Armenpress” informs, citing armenews.com website of Nouvelles d’Armenie­ that the special evening dedicated to Armenian-Jewish fraternity was held in a crowded hall.

Opening speeches were given before the concert started and Charles Aznavour’s greeting was shown on the screen. Legendary composer and pianist Michel Legrand with his son Benjamin, pianist, singer Gilbert Montanye, singer Enrico Macias, producer André Manoukian, duduk player Lévon Minassian and others took part in the concert.

The horror of 1915 was repeated and happened in other parts of the world with other people. After 100 years from the Armenian Genocide, artists with French, Jewish or Armenian roots, or without these roots, have gathered to pay tribute to the Holocaust and the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. They will sing in the memory of all genocide victims”, the website of the evening informs.
