YERERVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Yazidis in Armenia welcome the Constitutional reforms. President of the “Midia-Shangal” national union of Yezidis, Amo Sharoyan, mentioned about this in an interview with “Armenpress”.

“Draft Constitutional reforms is discussed NA extraordinary session. The 2nd point of the 89th article of the draft entails to allocate seats to national minorities at the National Assembly. This is praiseworthy and right. Representatives of national minorities have no real opportunities to enter the sphere of legislature even in the most democratic states, such as in the case of European countries, because capabilities are necessary for it but not rights. Thank God! Our country provides that extra opportunity”, Amo Sharoyan mentioned.

According to him, the word “discrimination” has never been used by anyone during the history of Armenians and Yazidis.

“I am confident, it will never happen. Representatives of national minorities will find their place within the state structures, which is highly appreciated.  We will participate in the substantive discussion of the draft and will say “yes” to the Constitutional reforms”, he informed.
