YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The Government will continue subsidizing the increase of electricity tariff for the citizens and SMEs. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia mentioned about this in an interview with journalists at the National Assembly. “The rumors that the Government has no money to subsidize do not correspond to the reality. The Government has money and will subsidize. We agreed that we will do and we do it”, “Armenpress” reports, the PM emphasized.

Referring to the problems over “Kimprom” in Vanadzor, the PM stressed that the Lori governor's office and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will deal with that issue.  Hovik Abrahamyan noted that it is a private company and the owner must find a solution to the problem.

The Government of the Republic of Armenia will remunerate the increase of the electricity tariff for the citizens and small and medium enterprises starting from August 1 until the end of the audit that is to be held in the “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Yervand Zakharyan had mentioned about this after the August 31 session of the Government. According to him, the Government will subsidize the increase of 250KWt of those SMEs which consume up to 500KWt energy.
