Expert: Erdoğan can lose control of situation in Turkey

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan tries to gain political benefits from the political situation in the country. This view belongs to the Middle East expert Vicken Cheterian. As “Armenpress” informs, during the discussion, Cheterian noticed, that the situation in Turkey exclusively refers to the domestic life in the country and it is hard to make any predictions whether Erdoğan or kurds will finally win.
To the question whether the Turkish authorities will succeed in the Kurdish issue settlement, the analyst responded. “It is very difficult to foresee the positive development of the situation at this point. There exists a real threat that Erdoğan will lose the control of the situation in Turkey. Kurds are stronger and more organized today than in 80th. There is a military cooperation between USA and Kurdistan Worker’s Party. And it is very hard to foresee the further developments”.
