48 citizens detained on Baghramyan Avenue have been released

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. All the citizens detained by the Republic of Armenian Police on Baghramyan Avenue have already been released. “Armenpress” received the information from the Head of the Department of Public Relations and Information of the Republic of Armenia Police – Ashot Aharonyan.

“The police detained 48 people on Baghramyan Avenue. Records were immediately drawn up after which all the detainees were released.”, stated Aharonyan.

The protestors of the electricity price hikes blocked one of the main avenues of Yerevan, Baghramyan Avenue on Sept. 11, 2015. The Police of Armenia spread a statement saying it would provide six (6) hours to the organizers and participants of the illegal meeting to express their demands until September 12, 2015 05:00 a.m., eliminate unlawful blocking of Baghramyan Avenue with the condition that the assembly will be peaceful in nature. At 05:30, the Police fully restored the regular traffic along Baghramyan Avenue detaining some protesters.
