ARTASHAT, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS. Athletics competitions of the 6th summer pan-Armenian games started at the Artashat City Stadium on August 7. More than 130 athletes from 17 cities of Armenia and abroad participate in the competition.

To the question of the correspondent of “Armenpress” which of the cities of the Republic do best, and what are the results of athletes from other countries, the athletics coach Grogor Simonyan said, “Gyumri is doing the best among the cities of the Republic. They are wonderful. It seems that all the prizes are for them. Among foreign countries Georgia already possesses two golden, Barnau city has one golden, Tehran city has one golden, one silver and one bronze medals”.

Four girls and twelve boys participate in those games from Artashat. According to Simonyan, they are not professionals and the best athletes have injuries. “That is why I am not satisfied. The participants have mainly trained after working hours as they are employed. They had actively trained previously”, he said.

During the last, the 5th pan-Armenian games the athletes from Artashat gained one golden, two silver and one bronze medals.

The teams from Marseille, Lebanon, Argentine, Jerusalem, Tehran, Greece, Minsk, Isfahan, Barnaul, Millburn, Barcelona, Georgia as well as from Vanadzor, Gyumri, Kapan, NKR will compete today.
