Italian popular and beloved film actress Ornella Muti could not refuse the offer to participate in the Armenian film festival in a year important for Armenia. The honorable guest of the 12th international festival “Golden Apricot” confessed this during a meeting with her Armenian fans and representatives of mass media on July 12.

I accepted the invitation to the festival because this year is special for Armenia. Armenia is a country that has been much oppressed. I have a dear friend who has married an Armenian. I heard a lot about Armenia from him. I like this festival very much and I liked the selection of the films. I have never been in Armenia but I have been told that Armenia is a magic country not because it is beautiful but because it is rich in spiritual values. I could not refuse. I am positively surprised to see how Italian is spoken here.

One is born to be happy. A person must accept the energy of the universe and be in harmony with it. And he will happy if better understands what he possesses and what does not. Our society indicates what we do not have, consequently, we forget what we have.

Armenia has great actors, for example, Aznavour. In case of a proposal, I will be ready to play.

Muti about plans for new films

The economic crisis has its implications also on film industry. I play in a short English film as well as I will play in a Spanish film. Besides, I am going to play in a theatre performance in Russia; I have to improve my Russian for a few months. There are some other plans about which I would not like to speak yet. The crisis worsened and we, Italians, approach the situation of Greeks more and more. Ornella Muti is a constant honorable guest at the Cannes Film festival. The Yerevan premiere of “Swan in love”, where the actress plays, will take place in the framework of “Golden Apricot”.
