Those living from “Apricot to Apricot” who have waited 365 days for the launch of the event, undoubtedly will not be disappointed: The festival has prepared surprises for all film lovers. And not only in the form of diverse and different films…

“Armenpress” presents the particularities of the 12th film festival held from July 12 to 19.

Muti, Kinski, Gedikian…

The list of the guests of this year’s festival is full of stars. First, Ornella Muti, the Italian film star, will decorate the “Golden Apricot” festival with her presence. She is familiar to the Armenian audience mostly by the comedy movie “The Taming of the Scoundrel” (1980), where she plays with Adriano Celentano. The actress playing in the film “Swan in Love” will premiere in Yerevan in the framework of “Golden Apricot”.

Nastassja Kinski will be among the honorable guests of the “Golden Apricot” film festival as well. The German actress gained world popularity in 1978 playing in Alberto Lattuada’s “Stay as you are” romantic film, where Kinski’s partner was Marcello Mastroianni. A retrospective show of Nastassja Kinski’s films will take place in the framework of “Golden Apricot”.

Another surprise: French-Armenian director, actor, screenwriter and producer Robert Gedikian will head the jury of the international feature competition. It is already 35 years that Gedikian works and creates in the field of cinema and has his firm place among the best French filmmakers of his generation.

Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

Because of the 100th anniversary of the genocide “Golden Apricot” will focus on thematic film shows. Two extended programs dedicated to the Mets Exern will be implemented in the framework of “Golden Apricot”: “We exist” and “Never again”.
