Film actor Omar Sharif passed away at age eighty three
YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS. The actor of the classical films “Lowrence of Arabia” and “Doctor Zhivago” Omar Sharif deceased at the age of 83. “Armenpress” informs this citing BBC.
The Egyptian actor is a double winner of “Golden Globe” award and was nominated for “Oskar” in 1962 for the role of Sheriff Ali in the film “Lowrence of Arabia”. He was awarded with “Golden Globe” for the film “Doctor Zhivago”. Late this year his agent confirmed that he had the diagnose of Alzheimer’s disease. “He had a heart attack in the hospital of Cairo this morning”, informed Sharif’s agent Steven Kenis.
It should be mentioned, that the actor played in the “Mayrig” film of Armenian film producer Henri Verneuil, after which Ankara banned his entry to Turkey.
