YEREVAN, JULY 1, ARMENPRESS. Edward Nalbandyan, the minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Armenia, has met with Nick Gir, the director of international security policy at the Ministry of Defense of the UK. The minister has stressed that Armenia attaches much importance to the development of cooperation with the UK in various areas and has expressed satisfaction with the continued dialogue between the two countries, sources from the Press, Public Relations and Information Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Armenpress.
Nick Gir has thanked the minister and has said that the primary purpose of his visit is to get first-hand information on the developments in the region and the approaches taken with regard thereto.
The parties have exchanged ideas on Armenia-NATO cooperation. Nick Gir has highly appreciated the participation of the Armenian side in peacekeeping missions in different countries.

The parties have also exchanged ideas on a number of international and regional urgent issues.

The minister has spoken with his guest about the efforts made by Armenia and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group for peaceful resolution of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
