World Council of Churches always treated Armenians’ problems with care: Serzh Sargsyan

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS: The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on June 10 hosted the delegation of the Executive Committee of the World Council of Churches, headed by the General Secretary Olav Tveit. Along with the delegation, the President also hosted the Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II, with the presidency of whom the next session of the Executive Committee of the World Council of Churches launched at the Holy See of Mother Etchmiadzin. It is held in Armenia on the occasion of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the presidency of Karekin II in the World Council of Churches.
The press service of the Armenian President’s Office informed Armenpress that Serzh Sargsyan highlighted the activities of the World Council of Churches, the member of which is the Armenian Apostolic Church for already more than half a century.
The President stated with gratitude that the World Council of Churches has always treated the Armenians’ problems with care, recognizing the Armenian Genocide in 1983.
