Main Avenue park fountains maintenance was technically impossible: Suren Ohanyan

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS: The maintenance of the fountains in the framework of the renovation works in the park, located between Saryan Street and Mashtots Avenue, was technically impossible. The author of the park renovation project, the Director of the Yerevan Project Institute Suren Ohanyan told Armenpress about it.
“Not only the fountains, but also all the walls, alleys, curbs and pavement were technically subject to corrosion. There was not any preserved part in the park. The fountains were huge structures and when they were demolished, open space was found under them for the pumping stations of the fountains. They were totally destroyed and could not be maintained technically. To build the same was senseless, as that amount of water and electricity was too expensive and economically not advantageous”, - stated Suren Ohanyan.
