YEREVAN, 23 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The EU Eastern Partnership summit was important for Armenia in many regards, but the greatest achievement was that the EU showed that Armenia’s approaches are acceptable to the European Union. This is what political scientist Sergey Minasyan mentioned as he touched upon Armenia’s participation in the summit in Riga in an interview with “Armenpress”.

 According to the political scientist, what was important was that the drafting of a new Armenia-European Union legal document was announced during the summit. “This document must later be approved by all the member states, meaning this is legally almost the same document as the Associated Agreement. However, in this document it will be mentioned that Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. In that sense, this is a great achievement for Armenia because Armenia’s approach is completely acceptable to the European Union,” Minasyan said.
