Minister Nalbandyan touched upon situation in South Caucasus at sitting of CSTO Foreign 
Ministers Council

YEREVAN, 2 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On April 2, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan participated in the sitting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. As the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the ministers exchanged views on problems that are having an impact on global and regional security, the current state of affairs in Central Asia and the South Caucasus, as well as the developments unfolding in the Near East. They also touched upon the efforts aimed at establishing stability in Afghanistan. Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan delivered a speech on these issues.

During the sitting, the foreign ministers discussed the issues on synthesizing the foreign policies of CSTO-member states and touched upon the development of military and military-technical cooperation and the fight against terrorism and the illegal circulation of narcotics.

During the sitting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojidin Aslov presented the priorities of Tajikistan’s chairmanship of the CSTO, while CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha delivered a report on the current activities of the CSTO and the results of cooperation.

The ministers determined the ten topics for statements to be made on behalf of the CSTO in 2015, and three of those statements will be at the initiative of Armenia. The ministers also adopted a joint statement on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
