The Eyewitness: Armenian Genocide survivors still have something to say to world

YEREVAN, 17 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. When Arevaluys Amalyan sees the doctors, she says; “I’m not ill”. When she saw the unexpected visit of the doctors, she was not only surprised, but got angry. Hurriedly she went to the neighboring room and assured that she doesn’t have any disease. Arevaluys is one the heroes of "Eyewitness" exclusive project introduced by “Armenpress” News Agency dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The project has a history of two years. It should be noted that the state has taken the healthcare issues of Arevaluys under its care.

The Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia provides continuous medical care and services to the eyewitness-survivors of the Armenian Genocide.

Unlike the 102-year-old eyewitness, who has an enviable health, the other witnesses, who live in Yerevan, have passed comprehensive examinations. According to the family members, the older people, who most of the day spend in bed, need of this attention. Although the issue of social maintenance and care of many people still remains topical, however, the facilitation of burden medical aid also is important.

"Sometimes I lie, sometimes I get up and sometimes I have pain," Silvard Atajyan, who has had a difficult hip surgery this February, noted this in a conservation with nurses.

The committee had decided to support and make the operation within the framework of medical care services, which are guaranteed by the state. The wish of Musa Dagh’s woman is, that, next time when they visit her, they could see her in her lovely garden, which is surrounded by the flowers cared of her own hands. Among her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, currently she loves specially her great-grandchild Mike, who never rejects the proposal of taking chocolate bar from his great grandmother’s hand and kissing her.
