Armenia's Defense and Emergency Situations Ministers in Tavush Province

Armenia's Defense and Emergency Situations Ministers in Tavush Province

YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of the Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Armen Yeritsyan has left for the Tavush Province of Armenia on the occasion of escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the Deputy Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Nikolay Grigoryan stated that the Minister will visit Chinari and Movses villages of the Tavush Province, where people hear shooting almost every day. At the same time, Grigoryan noted that the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan also has paid a separate visit to the Province.

Previously it was reported that the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains intense. The rival violated the ceasefire regime 300 times in the night of January 22-23.

The rival continues carrying out actions destabilizing the situation on the border; the tactics of carrying out subversive acts and attacks in different parts of the entire border of the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno Karabakh Republic continues. The Azerbaijani armed forces, taking no account of their numerous losses, which they are hiding, continue carrying out subversive acts, which make no sense from the tactical viewpoint. At around 9:00 in the morning, the Azerbaijani special task forces started attack in several directions of the military positions of the Berd region in Armenia’s Tavush Province. The relevant units of the Armenian Army noticed them in time and the combat began, which lasted about 30 minutes. The rival was thrown back with casualties failing to realize its objective. But unfortunately, the Armenian side had two casualties and injured.
