David Babayan on Baku’s attempts to present diversionists as Russian citizens

YEREVAN, 5 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan has taken another disgraceful step and has distorted the words of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. This time Azerbaijani presses have added parts to Lavrov’s speech, saying that the two diversionists arrested in Karvatchar are citizens of the Russian Federation and that the official Moscow wants them to be returned or exchanged immediately. In reality, Lavrov said something else. Talking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in Basil, Lavrov, without mentioning anyone in particular, emphasized the fact that the issue of the hostages is very serious and that they need to be released or exchanged.

In an interview with “ArmenPress”, press speaker of the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic David Babayan said the Azerbaijani media’s efforts no longer come as a surprise to him. It’s not the first time that Stepanakert checks the Azerbaijani media’s information several times through different sources because they know that the representatives of Azerbaijani media will write however they want or whatever they think. The same thing goes for Lavrov’s response. In relation to this, Babayan even considers it absurd to interpret the Azerbaijani media’s actions.
