YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Because of the harsh state stance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the lack of reasoning and downing of the helicopter with violation of humanistic norms, and refusing to carry out corresponding measures after it, the leadership of the Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was forced to resort to special operations. The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan stated this in a conversation with the journalists reflecting of returning the body of one of the members of the helicopter downed by Azerbaijan and remains of the other two pilots due to a special operation.

As reports “Armenpress”, Seyran Ohanyan underscored: “Our Armed Forces are capable to realize their tasks not only during trainings, but at the real military situations as well. Talking to the commander, we learnt that due to the skilful actions of the servicemen, the crash site of the helicopter was determined. Body of one of the servicemen and remains of the two bodies were evacuated. Some of the important parts of the helicopter have also been taken for holding a proper investigation. The trap organized by the rival was completely eliminated by the servicemen of the Defense Army during this period.”

According to him, along with the words of consolation, which must be addressed to the relatives of the deceased pilots, we should also be proud of the special task forces of the Defense Army, which have carried out their difficult task with honor.

Among other things, Seyran Ohanyan highlighted: “I have already stated this and I’ll repeat again that in such situations there will be a relevant punishing action as minimum. We will strengthen our service, measures to detect, identify and eliminate the opponent on the front line. But these measures will be targeted only at those, who will try to cross the borders. The Armenian people have no habit of killing with an ax and initiating provocations. We’ll just give a relevant, or a little bit more, response to any such provocation.” 

“Taking into consideration the official statements by the Azerbaijani side and the absolute lack of reasoning, the Armed Forces of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic were forced to carry out a special operation to learn about the fate of the crew members of the helicopter downed by the rival on November 12 on the site and give solution to issues stemming from it. In the result of the realization of the military task, the body of one of the crew members and remains of the two pilots have been evacuated from the site of the incident along with some of the necessary parts of the helicopter. At the course of the special operation, two askyars of the rival have been eliminated. The Defense Army had no casualties.”
