YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian delegates showed a brilliant performance on the first day of the Greco-Roman wrestling competition at the 29th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Championships, which are held in New Jersey, USA. As reports “Armenpress”, the Wrestling Federation of Armenia informs about this.

Two of the wrestlers competing under the tutelage of Edward Sahakyan – Gevorg Sahakyan (66 kg) and Karapet Chalyan (75 kg) were victorious in all the bouts and have became world champions and each of them brought 15 points to the national team. Sahakyan had come second in this tournament last year, whereas Chalyan is the 2013 World Junior Champion.

Separately, Robert Kirakosyan (59 kg) and Rafayel Aleksanyan (71 kg) won bronze medals and brought 8 points, each, to the Armenian Team.
