Having no other measure at hand to conceal their own inability and ease the increasing discontent within the society, the Azerbaijani media tried to use another cheap step and spread disinformation saying as if the Armenian side has recorded a huge number of casualties. Citing the false Twitter page ascribed to political scientist Edward Abrahamyan, which has just been opened, the Azerbaijanis hurried to declare as if the Armenian army has lost 51 servicemen and 35 were injured. “Armenpress” managed to get in touch with Abrahamyan, who decisively denied the information spread by the Azerbaijanis and stated that the fabricated page does not belong to him. Furthermore, he had not used Twitter for the last two weeks. “I am surprised at the fact that there are still people, who believe the flight of Azerbaijani thought, which proves popular saying – there can be a lie, a bald-faced lie, and Azerbaijani media,” Abrahamyan noted.

By all means, our agency never took such miserable lies seriously, particularly from a country, which “equips” its special victims with medicines meant to treat diarrhea.

The rival attacked military positions of one of the military units located in the northern direction of the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies on July 31. The Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic informed “Armenpress” that facing with an organized resistance of the military position’s personnel, the rival was thrown back to the primary positions suffering numerous losses. Unfortunately, two serviceman of the Karabakh Defense Army were killed in the result of the operation. An investigation has been launched to reveal the details of the incident.

The entire territory, which was subjected to assault by the Azerbaijani side, is currently under the control of Karabakh’s Defense Army. A vast amount of special weaponry and technical means has been confiscated from the rival due to the operative measures taken. Due to the subversive act, the Azerbaijani side announced about 9 casualties, notwithstanding there is information about 14 casualties.
