YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS. The All-Armenian slogan of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is chosen to be: "I remember and demand", and the symbol is the flower Forget Me Not. At the meeting with the journalists this was informed by the Chief of the President’s Staff, the coordinator of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Vigen Sargsyan. "The chosen slogan is specially emphasized and personalized, for when each of us utters it, remembers the story of his family, tragedies of our history, and the demand that we see in this context, to be presented to the entire world", as reports “Armenpress” , said Vigen Sargsyan.

He informed that the working group formed by the State Commission coordinating the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide had conducted a two-stage contest and had chosen the symbol of 2015. "Dozens of works had been introduced to the Working Group, of which the Commission decided and approved the symbol represented by the "Sharm" company,  the “forget-me-not” flower. The flower has nearly the same meaning in all languages and symbolizes that nothing will be forgotten. In the middle of the flower there is the graphic picture of the 12 pillars of Tsitsernakaberd Memorial" -said Vigen Sargsyan, adding that it will be actively used during 2015.

The chosen colors, according to the official, bear the symbol of the past - the tragedy of the Genocide, the present and the future. "The five petals of the flower symbolize the five continents, where the Armenian refugees found themselves, creating their communities, forming the Armenian diaspora" - said Vigen Sargsyan.

According to him, a very impressive program of events is being prepared. "On the largest and well-known stages, in the main cathedrals of different capitals, in the best exhibitions halls we will see demonstrations, which will be directed as to the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide victims, as well as to honor and respect them, to survive the idea that our ancestors laid in the basis of the national revival" - added the Chief of the President's Staff.
