Armenia's National Football Team maintains 33rd position in FIFA ranking

YEREVAN, MAY 8, ARMENPRESS. FIFA has published a new ranking list. The National Football Team of Armenia again appeared in the 33rd place of the FIFA updated ranking list with 750 points.

No changes have been recorded in the top three. Current World and European champion Spain is ranked No. 1. The Spanish National Team is followed by Germany, who will play host to Armenia on June 6, and Armenia’s Euro 2016 qualifying round opponents Portugal are still in third place.

FIFA World Cup hosts Brazil have moved up to fourth in the world rankings, their highest position in nearly two years.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's men have jumped above South American rivals Colombia and Uruguay into their best spot on the global ladder since July 2011.

Brazil are now the leading team from the CONMEBOL confederation in the rankings, with Argentina behind Colombia and Uruguay in seventh.

World Cup holders Spain continue to lead the way in first ahead of Germany and Portugal, a position they have held from September 2011.

The 2014 World Cup begins on June 12 in Sao Paulo, with the final set of rankings before the tournament set to be released six days earlier.
