Armenia’s Prime Minister resigns

Armenia’s Prime Minister resigns

YEREVAN, APRIL 3, ARMENPRESS:  “The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan introduced his resignation to the President Serzh Sargsyan. The executive body of the party accepted the resignation,” Eduard Sharmazanov said as reported by Armenpress.

He noted that the Prime Minister introduced the application of his resignation a month ago, but since negotiations were ongoing around the Customs Union, the international economic conference of Armenia’s Republican Party should be organized, the President asked him to continue his authorities for some time. “The Prime Minister said that this is a weighted decision, the resignation was conditioned by personal reasons,” Eduard Sharmazanov said adding that no discussions were held upon the new Government.

Tigran Sargsyan also made a post in Facebook: “Dear compatriots, back in February I made a request to the President Serzh Sargsyan to accept my resignation. The decision was ripened and conscious. We agreed to postpone presenting the application for my resignation taking into consideration a number of important state events and need for holding the economic conference of Armenia’s Republican Party.  I thank all the people with who I worked and first of all to the President of the Republic of Armenia for trusting the high position of the Prime Minister to me. I wish the new government patriotic and productive work”.
