Armenian deputy foreign minister excludes possibility of putting border checkpoints 
between Artsakh and Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: The installation of border customs checkpoints between the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic is excluded. About that said deputy foreign affairs minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan during press conference on September 5 reverberating to possibility of putting border checkpoints between Armenia and Artsakh in case if Armenia joins Customs Union. “For us Karabakh is the red line which we will never pass and naturally it is excluded that between Armenia and Artsakh is a border,” said Shavarsh Kocharyan, reports “Armenpress”.  

On September 3 in Moscow President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced about Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union and implementation of steps necessary for that aim and in future participating in formation of Eurasian economic union. At the same time Armenian President mentioned that the decision to join Customs Union is not a refusal from dialogue with European organizations. Chief of staff of President’s office Vigen Sargsyan on September 4 announced that pre-signing of Association agreement remains in Armenia’s agenda.
