Armenia-EU relations are not conditioned by Armenia’s relations with other structures. Traian Hristea

structures. Traian Hristea

YEREVAN, MAY 21, ARMENPRESS: EU doesn’t link development of relations with Armenia with the country’s relations with other integration institutions. This was noted by Head of EU delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea during May 21 meeting with journalists.

“Every single member of Eastern Partnership is based on its own interest and is free to decide the way it wants to follow integration policy. We don’t want to suspend relations with other integration fields, in this case with Customs Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States,” Armenpress quoted Traian Hristea who added that Brussels and Yerevan were at the moment negotiating for deeper integration relations.

Head of EU delegation to Armenia has noted that choosing the way of constructing relations with different integration structures is sovereign right of Armenia.

12th plenary session of negotiations on Armenia-EU Association Agreement launched on May 19 in Armenian Foreign Ministry. Negotiations, which have started in July 2010, are now reaching their final stage.
