Armenia-Syria air communication to be restored

YEREVAN, MAY 15, ARMENPRESS. The Armenia-Syria air communication will be again restored. The Damascus-Qamishli-Yerevan flight will launch on May 22. The Manager of the Syrian Airways Yerevan Office Svetlana Hovhannisyan stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress".

Among other things Svetlana Hovhannisyan underscored: "The flight was scheduled to be launched on May 15, notwithstanding, the date was changed to May 22. We have already started to sell the tickets for the upcoming flight. The number of the passengers leaving to Syria from Armenia has already reached 12; the number of passengers arriving to Armenia is approximately the same by now."

The sole and only flight was held on April 16. The aforesaid flights were to become regular and launch at 03:10 each Wednesday. Notwithstanding the flights, which were scheduled to launch on May 1 and May 8 were canceled.

There is no information about the reasons. Also, there is no information about the flights to Aleppo and Latakia either.
